The Lérez flows through the Pontevedra area of southern Galicia and is now better treated as a sea-trout and brown-trout river with salmon heritage rather than as an active salmon destination. Salmon stocks are depleted and out of bounds, but strong reo culture remains the more practical migratory-fish angle. The 60 km length, 6-hour response and coastal proximity still create worthwhile lower- and middle-river opportunities, while the headwaters offer brown-trout fishing.
