This page explains how Rise Daisy uses cookies and similar technologies when you use our web app. Cookies are small text files stored in your browser that help the app remember your preferences and work correctly across sessions.

Always active

These keep the app working. They remember that you're signed in, store your cookie consent choice, and handle secure session management. The app cannot function without them. These cookies cannot be disabled.

Preference

Can be declined

These remember your settings — your saved rivers, preferred species, unit system (metric or imperial), and location preferences — so the app feels consistent between visits. Declining these means some personalisation features won't work.

Analytics

Can be declined

We use Vercel Analytics to understand how people use Rise Daisy — which pages are most visited, how long predictions take to load, and where errors occur. This data is aggregated and anonymous. No individual user profiles are built.

Third-party cookies

We do not share your data with advertisers. However, a small number of third-party services may set their own cookies:

  • Stripe — if you access the billing portal or complete a payment, Stripe sets cookies to manage the secure payment session.
  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider uses cookies to maintain your signed-in session securely.

Managing your preferences

You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown when you first visit the app. You can also:

  • Clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.
  • Use your browser's private/incognito mode to browse without cookies being stored.
  • Disable cookies entirely in your browser — note that essential features (sign-in, saved preferences) will stop working if you do this.

Local storage and caching

Rise Daisy also uses browser local storage to cache river conditions and prediction data locally — this makes the app faster on subsequent visits and reduces server requests. This data is stored on your device only and is cleared when you sign out or clear your browser data.
