The first of these notes. Once a month we'll write down what changed in Rise Daisy, in plain English. September was mostly about speaking your language, making the numbers more honest, and getting ready for the end of the season.

In your language
- German, throughout
- Rise Daisy now runs in German, from the map and the forecasts to sign-in and subscriptions.
- Spanish and French that read as written
- Dates, numbers and angling words follow local use. A beat is a parcours in French and a tramo in Spanish, not a word-for-word guess.
- Prices in your own currency
- On the website you now pay in your local currency rather than always in pounds, and the price matches the one the App Store shows.
Better at the water
- Water temperatures, checked
- For English rivers we compared our estimated water temperatures with the Environment Agency's own measurements. Ours ran cold, so we refitted them.
- Two autumn hatches
- The Autumn Olive was dropping out of forecasts in early autumn, just when it matters. It now stays until the water cools. The Iron Blue no longer switches off on mild days, and counts for less in high summer, when it is scarce.
- Spring creeks stay cold
- Rivers like Silver Creek and the Metolius are fed by groundwater and stay cold all summer. Their forecasts now know that, instead of treating them like rain-fed rivers.
- One temperature per US gauge
- Some US gauges carry several sensors, including ones buried in the streambed. We now read only the one in the river, so the number no longer jumps about.
- Wind you can see
- Wind is drawn so its strength shows at a glance, with the force number set beside it.

- Over 500 new photographs
- Waters from Patagonia to Japan now open with a photograph of the water itself, mostly from Wikimedia Commons and US government agencies.
Behind the scenes
- No more hanging pages
- A slow database could once hold a river page for minutes. Every query now has a time limit, so a slow moment can no longer stall the page.
- Tighter locks
- We closed several places where the database accepted changes it shouldn't have.
Supporters
- Pro is now Supporter
- The name now says what it is. Supporters keep Rise Daisy independent and pay for the anglers who can't. If you can't pay, that's fine: the app still shows every water and its conditions.
- Fewer asks
- We ask at most once a month, and the bar that sat along the bottom of the screen is gone.
- Your support follows you
- If you support Rise Daisy through the iPhone app, it now carries over to the website when you sign in.
The season's end letter
- One short letter as your season closes
- It says what we built this year and asks what would make next season better. Replies come straight to us. The first ones go out on 16 September.
