A short, steep slate-country tributary of the Sil rising on the León-Ourense border above Oencia. The Selmo is mountain trout water in every sense — narrow, broken, partially canopied, with pocket-pool structure that suits short-line nymphing and the kind of careful upstream dry-fly work that small rivers demand. Wild brown trout only. Best fished from May into July; access requires walking from the road crossings.
