About this water

A Sil tributary running east-to-west through the remote Cabrera mountain valley between La Baña and Puente Domingo Flórez. Slate-and-quartzite freestone, classic Atlantic spate character. Wild brown trout throughout; the river also carries the legal status of a salmon-affected tributary lower down, though Galician salmon prohibitions and Sil-system depletion mean salmon is not a realistic target. Best fished from mid-May through July in the middle reaches around Encinedo and downstream.
