The Bernesga descends from high Cantabrian massifs into the León basin — 75 km of excellent trout water with mixed geology and good insect productivity. Designated EDE sections enforce fly-only, catch-and-release protection of outstanding wild browns. The 5-hour spate response demands attentive timing but creates excellent running-water conditions. Consistent spring and early-summer hatches reward technical dry-fly and nymph work.
