How to fish it · for Brown Trout
When
Through the FVG trout season, 29 March to 27 September. The Fella can rise and clear within a day of a storm — check conditions before committing to a beat.
Where
Pocket water and pool tails through Val Canale and the Canal del Ferro. The pale limestone cobble makes fish easy to spot in low water, and just as easy to spook.
Method
Short-line nymph through the broken pocket water — the Fella rewards quick reading of fast, torrential currents more than long drifts.
Kit
9 to 10 ft #4, floating line, 12 ft leader to 4 to 5 lb fluoro. Studded boots for the cobble.
