Nesland Lake is small, 48 acres, and right off Highway 3 — and in 2025 the hatchery put in close to forty-six thousand trout, mostly tiger trout, which is more than almost any lake in the province got.

About this water

The complication is yellow perch and pike, which compete with the stocked fish. The limit is three, and since 2025 the lake has closed each spring from 1 April to 4 May, so check the guide before an early trip.

Under the surface

A 48-acre, 11.5 m-deep lake just off Highway 3, 13 km east-south-east of Shell Lake, stocked with rainbow and tiger trout — and very heavily in 2025 (about 34,000 tiger trout, 6,600 splake and 5,000 rainbows). Primitive launch; yellow perch and pike are present and compete with the trout.
