This Dubach — not to be confused with Dubach y Bont a few miles west, a mix-up that's caught out more than one visiting angler — is an eight-acre water split down the middle by an old stone wall into two connected halves. Both sides hold fish, and the wall itself makes a handy casting platform if you don't mind an audience of sheep. It's a straightforward wild brown trout water without much of a story attached, which after Cwmorthin's record fish and Cwm Foel's dam history is almost a relief — sometimes a llyn can just be a good place to fish.
