The upper Säveån is a small freestone river in southwest Sweden — clear, mostly gravel-bedded, with a fly-only section that keeps the fishing focused on the business at hand. Wild brown trout that have had enough attention to become selective without becoming uncatchable. The kind of water where a good drift matters more than the pattern; where you watch a fish working the edge of a current seam for twenty minutes before committing to an approach. Southern Sweden, accessible from Gothenburg, which is fine — the fishing doesn't ask you to pretend you're somewhere remote.
