How to fish it · for grayling
When
Autumn into late autumn is prime — September through November. The Italian closed season for grayling varies by region; check the FIPSAS regional permit before booking.
Where
Faster water at the heads of riffles, gravel runs, and deeper glide tails. The lower and middle Sarca holds grayling in classic Alpine pocket water.
Method
Euro-nymphing primary — Perdigons and small dropper nymphs through the pocket water. Switch to dries when sedges or olives come off in autumn afternoons.
