Short, powerful, and thermally about as stable as Slovenian water gets — the Hubelj boils straight out of the karst at Ajdovščina and runs a brief, cold, fly-only course before it's spent. It's the closest thing in the whole Soča/Vipava basin to a true spring creek: constant temperature, constant clarity, fish that see every angler who's worked the water that week and act accordingly. Marble, hybrid and brown trout with some rainbow. Not a big-water trip — a precise one.
