Lough Eske provides holding water and the brief river below concentrates fish during runs. Fish it methodically as sea trout stage before entering. A river of beautiful Donegal setting and consistent sea trout opportunity. Char also present, alongside the salmon, sea trout and brown trout. The Eske system encompasses Lough Eske (the primary holding water) and the short outlet river to Donegal Bay. For 2026 this is a catch-and-release fishery under the Wild Salmon & Sea Trout Tagging Scheme — all salmon and grilse must be returned.
