The Cabe is one of inland Lugo's better wild brown trout rivers — slate-and-schist geology, generally clear amber water and a steady gradient that keeps pool-riffle structure honest. Best fished from late April through June in the middle reaches above Monforte; the lower river slows considerably and is more coarse-fish water.
