How to fish it · for Marble Trout
When
First and last light bring marbles up to feed — the rest of the day they hold deep. Fishable 7 March to 28 September, but every marble trout goes back regardless of the calendar — retention is prohibited outright, not just seasonally.
Where
Deep glides and undercut limestone banks through the gorge sections toward Longarone. Marbles favour bigger, slower water than the brown trout sharing the same reach.
Method
Streamer on intermediate or sink-tip, worked slowly through the deep holding water. Barbless single hook mandatory, release with the fish still in the net.
Kit
9 to 10 ft #6/7, intermediate or fast-sink line, 8 to 10 lb fluoro. Big baitfish streamers. Wet net for handling.
Why this works
Water at 22.5°C. This is the line where catch-and-release kills marble trout. Do not fish for them today.

Temolo (grayling) closed from the last Monday of September to 15 April (R.R. 1/2023 art. 29) — later opener than trout. Minimum size 30cm. On the reach from the Busche dam to the end of the province, capture and retention is banned outright for anyone fishing on a daily or multi-day permit, regardless of season — check which permit type covers your beat before assuming grayling are fair game.

Rules are set at province or association level — check locally.
