Slow going — pick your moments
River temperature is the limiting factor today, not the flow. Fish dawn or dusk if you go at all, and handle everything with extra care.

About this water

A classic Catalan-Aragonese Pyrenean river flowing southwest from high limestone plateaux. Limestone gorges alternate with alpine valleys throughout; clear, alkaline freestone holds brown trout with good size distribution in upper reaches. Technical runs, pools, and pocket water reward careful presentation. Karst geology means rapid spate response sustained by groundwater storage. Access from La Pobla de Segur (middle) or Espot (upper). Long fly-fishing tradition makes this a mature, rewarding destination.

What would change the calculation
Cooler water — back toward the 10–16 °C ideal band — would lift the score and ease welfare.
A drop and clear would lift the flow and clarity scores.
