How to fish it · for brown trout
When
Nymphing can work through most of the day.
Where
Cover mixed depths.
Method
Start with tight-line nymphs and adjust if fish rise or drift higher.
Kit
9 ft #4 rod, floating line, 12 ft tapered leader to 4–5 lb fluoro tippet.
Why this works
⚠️ Water at 19.9°C — above the brown trout caution line (18°C). Fish dawn or dusk only. Land it fast, wet hands, no air shots. Otherwise poor — water clarity is in the right range.

About this water

A classic Catalan Pyrenean trout river flowing south from the Aigüestortes-Pica d'Estats massif through the Vall de Cardós to join the Noguera Pallaresa near Llavorsí. Cold, clear freestone water of limestone-mountain character, holding wild native browns. The valley supports several controlled trout zones (ZPC) with technical pocket water and small-fly fishing. Snowmelt-dominated through May; summer can be excellent in the cool upper reaches. A good intermediate-to-advanced wild-trout destination.
