About this water

The clearest Danish flagship for a sea-trout-first river — a spring-fed system with genuine chalk-stream character flowing through central Jutland. Riverfisher's live catch-report platform recorded 1,162 sea trout in 2025, with a largest fish of 8.3 kg, and the first bright fish are usually caught in early May, with fresh fish possible from late April. Clear, steady, alkaline water over gravel with the sort of weed growth that belongs on the Test. Wild brown trout and sea trout that have seen every fly in the book and learned to refuse most of them. The catch-and-release culture is strong and the access is tight — association membership or guided days are the realistic routes. Worth the effort. This is as good as Danish river fishing gets.
