The third of Jutland's salmon rivers, flowing west through Holstebro to Nissum Fjord. The fish ladder at Holstebro re-opened the upper river and salmon numbers have responded. HOF association has both catch-reporting and catch-statistics infrastructure, and explicitly says it has worked for years to make Storå a good salmon and sea trout water. The Holstebro area has the best access — association tickets and some guided water. Not glamorous water, but it produces fish. A sand-and-clay bed shapes this river. Atlantic salmon are managed under strict national quotas (DTU Aqua) — each river runs a limited annual kill quota and switches to catch-and-release once it is filled; check the quota before fishing.
