The Fylleån is a compact spate river in Halland, running south to join the Kattegat near Halmstad. Shorter than the Nissan but with the same responsive character — it colours quickly and clears quickly, and fish that were sulking in the estuary will be running a pool in the middle reaches within a day of decent rain. Sea trout come up first; salmon follow. The water is intimate enough that you can cover the productive stretch in a morning, which is often the right approach on a small spate river — get on it early, fish it hard, move on.
