Suseån is a strong smaller-river complement to Halland's larger salmon systems. Excellent sea trout and salmon runs with resident brown trout populations. Clear water, responsive to rainfall, excellent technical fly fishing. Established permit structure with clear season window. Fiskekort from iFiske. Atlantic salmon are managed under national rules (Havs- och vattenmyndigheten) — quotas, size limits and catch-and-release apply and differ between Baltic and west-coast rivers; check current rules before fishing.
The Susean is a small river of the Halland coast, meandering down to the Kattegat near Falkenberg through a quiet, pretty lowland of farm and wood. It is modest water — the lower few kilometres carry the fishing — but it holds a good stock of sea trout and salmon along with resident brown trout, the migratory fish running up off the sea on the autumn and winter water. The river draws its flow off the gentle south-Swedish uplands, soft and lightly stained, winding over a sand-and-gravel bed broken by occasional rock. The character is intimate, varied, meandering freestone — modest pools, streamy necks and slower glides on an easy gradient. Wading is easy on firm sand and gravel, the smaller water and clear runs rewarding a careful, quiet approach rather than any battle with heavy flow.
