About this water

A south-coast tributary of the Skaftá near Kirkjubæjarklaustur, originating south of Miklafell at around 600 m elevation and flowing through lava fields from the devastating 1783 Laki eruption. Part of the Battle Hill Lodge system alongside Geirlandsá and Vatnamót. Sea trout are the primary catch, with Arctic char also present. The lava-filtered water and unusual volcanic substrate give it a distinctive character among the south-coast sea-trout rivers.
