The main hill stream of western Lin'an, running past Changhua and Heqiao towns in the Tianmu mountains west of Hangzhou. Lin'an closes 22 district-level river reaches year-round — 309km of them — and exempts recreational angling from that closure, which makes this one of the better-documented pieces of fishable water in China. Twelve designated ecological angling points have been set out along the neighbouring Zhinan stream. It also holds 虹彩马口鱼, a brightly coloured Opsariichthys described as a Chinese endemic. / 昌化溪是临安西部的主要山溪，流经天目山区的昌化镇与河桥镇。临安区级以上禁渔河道22条、全长309公里，实行全年禁渔，但娱乐性游钓除外——这使其成为中国法律状况最清楚的可钓水域之一。邻近的指南溪沿线设有12处生态垂钓示范点。溪中另有虹彩马口鱼，一种色彩艳丽、被称为中国特有的马口属鱼类。
A Tianmu mountain stream running clear over granite through a valley of old towns and bamboo. It is a working river as much as a wild one — there are weirs and dams on it, and the water can rise fast and without warning when they release. / 天目山中的一条山溪，清水漫过花岗岩，穿行于古镇与竹林之间的河谷。它既是野溪，也是被使用的河流——溪上有堰有坝，开闸放水时水位可在无预警下迅速上涨。
