About this water

One of the great wild brown trout rivers of interior Spain, rising in the Serranía de Cuenca and running through the dramatic limestone Hoces del Cabriel gorge before forming the natural border between Cuenca and Valencia provinces downstream. Gin-clear freestone water over bedrock and gravel in its upper/middle reaches, with strong dry-fly and nymph fishing for wild browns. The lower gorge stretch (Hoces del Cabriel Natural Park) is a well-known destination in its own right.
