The Júcar's limestone headwaters above and through Cuenca city — one of interior Spain's classic wild brown trout rivers, running clear over gravel and bedrock through the gorge country the city itself is built into. Rises near Tragacete in the Serranía de Cuenca and gathers volume steadily downstream. Dry fly and light nymphing water in normal flows; the river can colour quickly after Serranía storms.
