Parachute dry
Silver Sedge
General sedge matcher
Trout · GraylingSurface
A traditional silver-ribbed sedge dry, palmered with deep red cock hackle and winged with coot (starling is a common substitute) sloped back over the body — a general summer sedge imitation for both rivers and stillwaters.
Fish this when
Summer and autumn evenings when small-to-medium sedges are on the water and you can't confirm the exact species. Fish it static, twitched, or dibbled at the end of the drift.
Why it works
The silvery-fawn colouring and sloped wing profile cover most of the common light sedges without pinning the fish to one species — a searching pattern rather than a specific imitation.
