Hans van Klinken's curved-shank emerger — body hangs below the film while the parachute post sits above. Tremendously versatile on pocket water and glides alike.
Fish it when trout are bulging rather than breaking the surface — taking emerging insects just under the top. Also effective as the top fly in a duo or New Zealand rig.
The curved hook suspends the body in the film, imitating a nymph half-out of its shuck. The parachute post provides buoyancy and visibility without pulling the fly above the surface.
The body already hangs below the film. A greased leader keeps the post up; a brief dip of the body in surface treatment sinks it further.

Use a curved caddis hook (Tiemco 2488 or similar). Keep the abdomen slim and well-tapered into the parachute thorax. Peacock or dubbing thorax.
