Fish this when

In low light, coloured water, or when trout are actively hunting fry. Good on reservoirs in autumn when fish are chasing fry on the shallows.

Why it works

The rabbit strip undulates with even the slowest retrieve. Black is highly visible in coloured water or at dusk. A mobile, lifelike profile trout key on as prey.
