About this water

A Luna tributary draining the Omaña country between Babia and Las Omañas. Classic León trout river — mountain headwaters in the Cordillera Cantábrica, mixed limestone and slate freestone bedrock through the middle reaches, joining the Luna at Las Omañas to form the Órbigo. Wild brown trout throughout. The middle Omaña around Riello and Inicio holds the most accessible water; the upper Babia headwaters above Murias de Paredes are wilder and require walking.
