Slow going — pick your moments
River temperature is the limiting factor today, not the flow. Fish dawn or dusk if you go at all, and handle everything with extra care.

2.5 miles from the railway bridge at Rossett upstream to Wormswood, Gresford — founded 1906, one of the oldest continuously-running clubs in Wales. Wild brown trout throughout; grayling established here since 2008 and now breeding. Migratory salmon and sea trout are seen scaling Rossett weir most years but rarely dwell — not a targetable run.
Day ticket £20/rod (2026 pricing). Fly-only, barbless hooks, no dogs, wash-off biosecurity policy applies.
