The York is one of the substantial Gaspésie rivers flowing to the St. Lawrence near the town of Gaspé — named pools, guides who have worked the water for generations, a long tradition of Atlantic salmon fishing that the river continues to justify. Multi-sea-winter fish run from early June; grilse through July and August. Classic Gaspésie pool structure: generous, fishable, with defined lies that reward the angler who takes the time to learn them rather than rotating through at speed.
