The Petite Cascapédia flows parallel to its more celebrated sister, joining Baie-des-Chaleurs near New Richmond. The Cascapédia system produces excellent fish — large multi-sea-winter salmon in early season, reliable grilse runs through August and September — and the Petite carries the same character in a smaller channel. Pool structure is classic Gaspésie: long glides with defined heads and tails, gravel bars that create good wading positions for the downstream swing. The best fishing runs mid-summer through early autumn, with grilse the primary quarry from late July.
