About this water

Spullersee is a mountain lake that works for a living. The railway dammed it for hydropower, which more than doubled its size, and its level rises and falls with the needs of the power station — in some springs you will be fishing a long way down the shore from where the high-water mark says the lake ought to be. Still, at over 1,800 metres with rainbow, brown and lake trout, char and brook char, it is a proper high-Alpine fishery, fished from the shore between early June and late October. It is not fly-only; barbless spinners are allowed. Wear boots with a decent grip for the exposed banks, and check the level before you go — the club posts updates when the water is low.
