About this water

A competition-proven trout and grayling river in northern Slovakia, part of the classic Váh tributary network and included in 2017 World Championship venues. Flows through a wide mountain valley below the Western Tatras, joining the Váh near Kraľovany. Submontane freestone character with good runs and pools—brown trout and grayling in cold clear water. Limestone and flysch geology from the outer ranges supporting good invertebrate life.
