Hebgen is a big Madison-river reservoir, and in summer it's famous for its 'gulper' fishing — pods of heavy wild rainbows and browns cruising the calm flats on a still morning, sipping Callibaetis and Trico with a little audible gulp that'll fray your nerves in the best way. It's boat or float-tube water. The trick is to spot a cruising pod, lead it, and let the fish come to the fly instead of chasing it around the lake like a fool.
