A Sperrin Mountains tributary of the Owenkillew, flowing west along the long, linear Glenelly Valley south of Sawel Mountain — one of the principal fault lines in the range — through the village of Plumbridge before joining the Owenkillew near Newtownstewart (itself a Strule/Mourne tributary). A medium-sized river carving through soft glacial moraine and alluvium, with peaty marsh pockets on the valley floor; otters are resident. Better known for salmon and sea trout than for its wild brown trout, though the trout stock is good. Loughs Agency-managed as part of the wider Foyle system. Atlantic salmon are managed under DAERA and Loughs Agency conservation byelaws, with mandatory catch-and-release on many waters; check current rules before fishing.
No venue-specific hatch data yet beyond the regional olive/iron blue pattern noted above; treat as general guidance rather than an observed hatch calendar.
