The Berounka is better treated as a broad mixed-species Bohemian river with a strong coarse-fish fly-fishing angle than as a flagship Czech trout-and-grayling destination. Public-facing Berounka fly-fishing guidance highlights chub, barbel and grayling, especially in summer, with noted productive water below Beroun and around the weir at Hýskov on Berounka 3 (411 001). Salmonids do appear in the rules, and fly fishing is allowed, but the river is more convincing as a mixed river where coarse-fish and grayling opportunities matter at least as much as trout.
