The Beaver at Thornbury is a famous, accessible Georgian Bay steelhead river — the dam and fishway draw crowds in spring as lake-run rainbows stack up. Smaller than the Saugeen or Nottawasaga, it concentrates fish in its lower reaches and is a reliable, if popular, spring-and-fall steelhead venue with autumn chinook.
