A wide turquoise river with a sweeping white gravel bar, flanked by limestone bluffs and dense forest.

The Bača is a Soča tributary running through its own small limestone gorge, clear and fly-only, carrying marble trout and rainbow trout for anyone willing to fish the secondary water instead of the famous mainstem next door.

The Bača is a Soča tributary running through its own small limestone gorge, clear and fly-only, carrying marble trout and rainbow trout for anyone willing to fish the secondary water instead of the famous mainstem next door. It's a decent rule generally — the tributaries of any well-known system tend to reward the bother of finding them — and the Bača is a good example of why.
