The Babine pours out of its namesake lake north of Hazelton and grows steelhead to a size that beggars belief — lake-fed clarity, huge bouldery runs, and fish that pull line into the backing without trying. The fishable water is a remote classified, fly-only stretch reached mostly by lodge and jet boat, fished on the swing through October. This is bucket-list wilderness steelheading; come for the size, stay for the country.
The Babine flows out of Babine Lake and is famous for the sheer size of its steelhead — lake-fed flows keep it relatively clear and the fish run exceptionally large.
