A Zamora trout river running west-to-east through Aliste country to join the Esla near Rabanales. The Aliste is granite-and-schist freestone water — narrower and faster than the lower Tera, with classic pool-riffle structure through the wooded middle reaches around Vegalatrave and Alcañices. Wild brown trout. Best fished from late April through June; the river runs warm in July and is best left until autumn no-kill stretches reopen.
