When
Trout season 1 May to 31 July. Spring olives and sedges through May; summer sedges through June and July evenings; the close arrives early in this Galician calendar.
Where
Boulder-strewn upper reaches through the Fragas do Eume — ancient Atlantic-forest gorge, Special Area of Conservation. Pool tails, riffle heads, and the seams behind boulders.
Method
Upstream dry to risers; dry-dropper through the riffles. The Eume runs through ancient forest — careful approach to wild trout in clear water. Walk softly, fish quietly.

9 ft #4 — Galician granite spate default. Floating line, 12 ft leader to 4 lb fluoro. Studded boots — granite cobble runs slick.
