The Byskeälven is a wild Baltic salmon river managed by a local fishing-rights association (FVO), not open common water — Sweden's right to roam lets you walk the banks but not fish them. Access is through a single, straightforward permit (fiskekort), most easily bought on iFiske, which covers the Västerbotten-side fishery of roughly 80 km from Byske at the coast up to Kåtaselet near the Norrbotten border.
