Fish this when

From late spring through summer when small yellow stoneflies (Isoperla) are active on rocky rivers. Often mid-afternoon when other hatches have quietened.

Why it works

When Yellow Sallies are hatching, trout lock onto their pale yellow colour and flat-winged profile. A matching imitation fished drag-free takes fish that are refusing everything else.
