Any fast, broken pocket water where you need a nymph at exact depth on a tight line — French no-kill sections on the Nive, Ariège and Aspe; Alpine freestone; Slovenian grayling and marble-trout water. Upstream or across, deep dead drift to known lies. The take shows as the leader checking or ticking upstream — react quickly.
