A small marabou lure with a bulbous head and thin, wiggly tail — the silhouette of something alive but not quite committed to any direction. Reservoir trout follow things and then turn away; the Tadpole on a slow retrieve changes their mind.
Fish this when
When fish are following but refusing faster-stripped lures. Slow figure-of-eight on an intermediate, or pull it gently on a mid-sink line. The takes are often very quiet.
