Pink Czech Nymph

Czech pink scud nymph
Trout · GraylingSubsurface

A Czech-style nymph with a pink-dyed body — scud or gammarus shrimp shape, segmented back, heavily weighted. The pink colour is rarely found in nature but works with extraordinary consistency on competition rivers, particularly for grayling.

Fish this when

Year-round for grayling on Czech and Polish rivers, and spring/summer for trout. Fish it on the point of a Czech rig in deeper runs over gravel.

Why it works

Pink nymphs are one of the great mysteries of competition fishing — the colour doesn't match any natural, yet grayling in Central European rivers take it without hesitation. The scud shape and weight are entirely natural; the colour is apparently irresistible.
