A lead-wrapped, black-vinyl-bodied nymph tied for the famously large and selective trout of Þingvallavatn — Iceland's largest natural lake — imitating the native pond snail (Radix balthica) that drives the lake's exceptional trout growth. "Bobbi" is Icelandic for snail, not a rendering of the English "Booby."

Fish this when

On Þingvallavatn and similar deep Icelandic lakes when fishing for large trout near the bottom. Fish it on a sinking line, static or with a very slow retrieve.

The weight gets it down to where the lake's big trout patrol, and the dark, slim silhouette matches the native snail that underpins the lake's exceptional trout growth.
