Golden Stone Nymph

On fast western or alpine freestone rivers through late spring into summer, fished deep on a tight line through the boulder-strewn runs where golden stones live for two to three years before hatching.

Its size and amber-gold colouring match a nymph that's genuinely large and always present, so trout treat it as a worthwhile mouthful rather than something to inspect and refuse.
