Sea trout wet
Dolly Varden
Sea trout · TroutShallow
Yellow body, blue-purple wing, black hackle — a sea trout wet fly with enough colour to get noticed and enough ambiguity to pass for something edible. Named, eventually, after a Dickens character who wore fashionably spotted dresses, via the Pacific char that borrowed the name first. The logic of the transfer is obscure; the fly still catches sea trout.
